Happy Pride, Neighbor! At the Lake Street Council, we believe in a vibrant, inclusive corridor where everyone feels a deep sense of belonging, ownership, and pride. That's why we're thrilled to invite you to celebrate Pride Month on Lake Street and visibly show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Pride Month commemorates the pivotal 1969 Stonewall Uprising, a landmark moment in the LGBTQIA+ rights movement. While we've made incredible strides, the fight for equality continues. Your visible allyship makes a real difference in creating a welcoming and safe environment for all.

This year, we offered businesses a complimentary kit to help you raise the visibility of your support through the Lake Street Lift program. As an extension of this kit, we’re pleased to offer a few resources to share on your social channels and e-newsletter! You can find this toolkit below.

The state's largest LGBTQ civil rights group, helping win same-sex marriage, make schools safer for LGBTQ youth, advance trans rights, elect pro-equity candidates, and run a 24/7 crisis line.
A community center for and driven by people living with HIV, offers free testing and nutrition & wellness services.
The largest HIV and STD clinic in Minnesota and a landmark for health care services in Hennepin County education and testing throughout the Twin Cities, on request. We offer support groups for people living with HIV.
A non-profit organization housed in the University of Minnesota's Department of Pediatrics—offers HIV testing, HIV/AIDS medical case management, HIV prevention services, and sexual health education programs for young people living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.

Pride Events in Minneapolis & on Lake Street
The Minneapolis People’s Pride intends to be a space for all queer folks to experience joy, eat food, trade art, and various other activities. Making space for and feeding queer joy is a radical act of resistance that both uplifts the queer community and resists white supremacist heteropatriarchy. We aim to create a space for rest, collaboration, and love, centering those most marginalized and affected by systemic xenophobia.

The Twin Cities Pride Festival is Minnesota’s second largest festival and the largest FREE Pride festival. Highlighting the best in LGBTQIA+ entertainment on 4 stages, featuring over 650 vendors, including LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC community resources, artists, and businesses.
When: Saturday, June 28th 10am – 7pm & Sunday, June 29th 10am – 6pm
