Midtown Mini Park

The Midtown Mini Park is a temporary community amenity located on private property at Columbus Ave and E Lake Street (715 E Lake St).

This space is open to the public for casual gatherings during the hours of 7:00 am. to 9:00 pm. We ask that special events, or organized groups of 12 or more go through our formal rental process. Organizations seeking to provide regular programming are also encouraged to submit an inquiry.

Call for Proposals

The Lake Street Council is planning a vibrant season of activation at the Midtown Mini Park! We’re seeking proposals for activations between June 1 and July 31, 2026, for:

  • Art Installations: temporary murals, sculptures, or interactive public art

  • Artist-led Workshops & Performances: printmaking, storytelling, music, dance, spoken word sessions, yoga, etc.

  • Other ideas to bring positive, art-related programming to our community's green spaces!

Proposals are due April 15, 2026.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Amenities

Midtown Mini Park is a pop-up park open to the public for casual gatherings during the open hours of 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. Visitors can enjoy:

  • Temporary landscaping improvements

  • Shaded seating area

  • Recreational amenities (LED swings)

  • Public art

Rental Rates

All renters must adhere to community safety agreements and sign a corresponding agreement.

  • Private party or picnic - $50/hour

  • Markets, festivals, community events | $200/day or $300/weekend

  • Recurring events or programs | Negotiable

This project was made possible by funding from the State of Minnesota and the City of Minneapolis as a part of Lake Street Lift. Programming administered by the property owner with support from the Lake Street Council.
