World Cup on Lake Street

Whether you like it or not, the World Cup is happening - and we are ready to enjoy it on Lake Street! From watching the games to shopping for gear to represent your team, Lake Street is the go-to street for the World Cup in Minneapolis.

The Lake Street Council is thrilled to invite you to a laid-back celebration of great soccer and the incredible local businesses that make Lake Street the place to be! Join us from Tuesday, June 23 - Saturday, June 27 at El Nuevo Campo: 2709 E Lake St for a big-ole screen, a beer tent, and plenty of cheering! Soak up everything Lake Street has to offer by grabbing takeout from one of the neighborhood's amazing local restaurants and setting up a blanket or chairs wherever you like.

  • Yes! The outdoor LED screen is waterproof so rain or shine we’ll be enjoying the beautiful game! Limited overhead coverage and ponchos will be available - umbrellas and ponchos are encouraged if rain is in the forecast.

  • El Nuevo Campo is an expansive grass field - blankets, towels, or lawn chairs are encouraged for maximum viewing comfort! Limited picnic bench and stool seating will be available.

    Food and non-alcoholic drinks are permitted. We highly encourage brining takeout from nearby local Lake Street restaurants!

  • Yes! This week of screenings will be fun for all ages, including a bounce house and yard games!

  • El Nuevo Campo will remain open for you to hang out, play some games, shop from local vendors, and see short local films.

    We also highly encourage exploring the area’s local businesses and murals!

  • See the schedule above for the food and drinks vendors. In addition, snacks will be available for purchase from the Lake Street Council table.
