Small employers: File wage detail reports by October 31

Minnesota Paid Leave offers a reduced premium for small employers. The standard premium rate is 0.88% of employee wages, and the small employer rate is 0.66%. These premiums are shared between employers and employees, which means eligible Paid Leave small employers pay as little as 0.22%.

Continue to file quarterly wage detail reports through your Employer Account at ui.mn.gov. These wage detail reports are used to determine who qualifies as a Paid Leave small employer. The next filing deadline is October 31. For help with Employer Accounts and filing wage detail reports, visit the Minnesota Paid Leave Employer webpage.

Manage employees’ leave. Make sure you’re set up with your Paid Leave Administrator Account and help employees get ready to apply when they need leave. Share the Get Ready to Apply for Minnesota Paid Leave Checklist to help them prepare.

Get help when an employee takes leave. Eligible small employers may receive up to $3,000 per employee leave, with a maximum of $6,000 per employer each calendar year, through Small Employer Assistance Grants. Learn more about reduced premiums and assistance grants at pl.mn.gov/smallbiz.

If you have any questions, please contact the Paid Leave Contact Center at 651-556-7777, Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or email paidleave@state.mn.us.
