Welcoming Week 2025
As part of Welcoming Week, the City of Minneapolis is hosting a litter pick-up on Friday, September 12, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. This is a volunteer service project to pick up litter together near E Lake Street and Hiawatha Ave.
New Nicollet RFP Feedback Meeting
Whittier Alliance, Lyndale Neighborhood Association, CANDO, and Phillips West Neighborhood Organization are co-hosting a meeting on September 17 at 6:30pm at Whittier Rec Center (425 W 26th St, Minneapolis, MN 55405) to review the request for proposals for the first phase of building at New Nicollet (the old Kmart site).

Lake & Nicollet Intersection has Reopened
The temporary construction at Lake & Nicollet is nearing completion, and Lake Street has reopened to cars, traffic, and pedestrians. The intersection had closed in early July for utility work related to the upcoming New Nicollet road construction project on the former K-mart site.
