MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (October 21, 2026) The Lake Street Council is hosting its third annual Lake Street Mural Day on Saturday, June 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will feature guided and self-guided tours of dozens of murals on Lake Street in Minneapolis, opportunities to meet local artists, mural-themed games and more.

Often referred to as an ‘outdoor art gallery,’ Lake Street has more than 100 murals by local, national and international artists that speak to the corridor’s diverse history and creativity. At the June 13 event, attendees will gather at the Midtown Global Market for tours of select murals in the area. Local artists Thomasina TopBear and Pablo Kalaka will meet with attendees and talk about their work. Guided tours will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Last year, thirty-four new murals by 30 artists were added to a 30-block stretch of the corridor as part of the Lake Street Lift Mural Bonanza. The Mural Bonanza was one of the largest concentrated mural projects in the nation, spanning over 25,000 square feet — equivalent to around five and a half basketball courts.

Since 2020, the Lake Street Council has funded more than 60 murals, vacant lot activations and art installations on the corridor, investing more than $1.5 million in beautification efforts.

Photos from last year’s event are available here.
